How to commission an Original Artwork
So, you've finally decided that you want to invest and own an Original piece of Art.
What now?
1. Know what you want.
It is crucial that you know what kind of subject you want in your future piece of art.
Consider the emotions or message you want to convey through this artwork.. do you want to express sadness? Happiness? Melancholy?
Is it a portrait of your pet? Is it a portrait of a beloved one? Is it a specific object or flower?
Collect any images, phrases, photos, that recall the idea you have for the painting.
2. Contact me.
Reach out to me trough the contact form below or send me a direct message on Instagram to tell me your idea.
3. Let's plan the piece.
This part is usually very quick if you know what you're looking for. Here we will talk about the details that you'd like to incorporate in the painting.. a specific color, a specific flower, a specific shirt, you name it. Here we will talk about pricing as well.
It is always hard to price Original Art but once I have an idea of what you want to get I will give you a final price for the piece, before we start, to make sure we're both committed to it.
4. How Long does it take?
Most of my paintings are done with oils. This means that they can take a little longer to dry if compared, for example, to acrylics.
It can take up to three months for the painting to be ready to ship/deliver.
Every case is different thought and it usually depends on the size of the canvas.
5. Check my price box before committing.
The prices you see in the Price Box are pretty accurate. The final price will not differ as much from the Start price.
Price changes are usually affected by the the difficulty of the subject and the amount of detail in the painting. Equally sized canvases can have different closing prices because of the difference in subject, difficulty and detail.
Payments
I accept the following methods of payment:
• Cash. The painting will have to be picked up in person, when ready;
• Debit/Credit card. I accept payments in person or online with these methods. Keep in mind that extra fees for the digital service may apply;
• Venmo or Cashapp;
The payment will be split in two.
One part will be paid upfront and considered as a deposit; the second part will be paid once the painting is done.
The painting will be ready to ship or pick up when the full amount has been paid.
I offer custom framing for an additional fee.
The shipping is NOT included in the price because it varies according to sizing of the artwork and location to where it will be shipped.
